Getting Started On Pressidium: First Steps To Success

Signing up to a WordPress host is easy. You pop in your details, click a few buttons and within a few minutes you’re the proud owner of a shiny new hosting account. But what happens after you’ve signed up? What should you be doing to ensure your setup goes as smooth as possible?

It’s a question many people ask and for the benefit of our customers, we want to answer it. So read on to discover what you can expect once signing up for Managed WordPress Hosting with Pressidium. We’ll cover everything from your first couple of emails, right through to creating a brand new website that’s ready to house your content.


First Steps: Check Your Email

The first thing you should be doing after signing up for our Enterprise Architecture Hosting, is to check your email. It might sound pretty basic. I mean, how hard can it be to read an email right? Seriously you’d be surprised how many emails get swallowed by spam filters and inbox gremlins.

So open up your email client of choice and keep an eye out for an email from one of our friendly team members. Inside you’ll find your login credentials and a link directing you to the login page of the Pressidium Customer Portal. This is the place where you can login to your Portal and get an overview of your account. More on that later.

Following that email will be one from a Pressidium expert DevOps Engineer. They’ll welcome you to the Pressidium® Pinnacle Platform and offer you the opportunity to take advantage of your free website migration.

Logging In: The Pressidium Customer Portal

With your details safely stored in your inbox (you did keep them safe didn’t you?) you’re finally able to login to your Customer Portal. This is really straightforward and should only take you a minute if that.

First either click the link in your email directing you to the login page, or head to the Pressidium homepage and select ‘Login’ from the top menu. From here enter your details as highlighted in your welcome email and hit enter.

That’s it, you’re in!

Navigating Your Customer Portal

Pressidium’s Customer Portal has been designed from the ground up to be easy to navigate, minimal and with only the information you need to know. This means there’s no complex settings and no chance of accidentally pressing the wrong button and watching your site go boom.

Your Portal is divided into a number of sections, each serving a direct purpose. The first is your main dashboard as you can see in the image above. This is a snapshot of everything going on with your account. From here you can see an overview of the Pressidium infrastructure, your billing and usage details, your WordPress installations and your traffic.

Moving down the left navigation menu, you’re able to navigate to further sections which provide additional information. The ‘Websites’ link shows in more detail everything you need to manage your WordPress installations, while ‘Billing’ contains everything you need to know about your account, invoicing history and current billing information.

The ‘Support’ section is where you can view your support ticket history. Any previous or current support tickets are stored here should you need to refer back them in the future. Lastly the ‘Help/KB’ area is Pressidium’s knowledge base of useful articles and information. This should be your first port of call if you’re unsure about anything to do with your Managed WordPress Hosting account.


Creating A New Website

Now that you know what each part of your Portal does, only one questions remains. How do you create a website? If you haven’t taken advantage of our free migration service, creating a new website is incredibly simple.

First click ‘Websites’ and select ‘Create Website’ as shown in the image above. From here fill in the details such as your website name, email address and password. If you leave the latter fields empty, we’ll fill them in automatically based on your existing account credentials.

Once you’ve done this, click ‘Create Website’.

The next screen you’ll see will be a confirmation of the details you submitted. You’ll be prompted to write these down before progressing any further, so please, write them down as you won’t have the opportunity to do so after this stage.

With your details safely written down, click ‘OK’ and wait for your new website to be created. You’ll receive a notification via the bell icon at the top of your screen when your site is ready. Click this and you’ll be taken to an overview of your new website.

Congratulations, you’re now good to go!



You should now be familiar enough with the Pressidium® Pinnacle Platform to successfully login and navigate your Customer Portal. This area is the springboard from which all of your activities surrounding your Enterprise Architecture Hosting will be managed. Everything from creating your staging environments to logging in securely to your WordPress dashboard will be done from here.
