What this means for you
The new datacenter on the West Coast plays an integral part as it enhances the speed with which your websites are served to your visitors.
What is more, we already provide a global Content Delivery Network for your website’s content (uploads and theme assets), which is designed and fine-tuned for WordPress and it is integrated into our platform. By using our CDN Service, your site’s content is served simultaneously from all edge locations, and specifically from whichever edge node is closer to the visitor of your website.
This allows your website’s content to be delivered by servers that are geographically closer to your visitors. This way network latency is minimised and the result is faster content loading and a snappier user experience.
The technology behind it
The new datacenter’s state-of-the-art infrastructure is equipped with a fault-tolerant, next-generation Optical Transport Network which provides infinite scalability and uninterrupted connectivity. This way your websites can operate continuously even when some components fail. They can scale seamlessly as they can handle more concurrent requests from visitors and the users can see their websites running smoothly without interruptions, downtime, and outages.
In fact, the new datacenter is a multi-homed datacenter facility fed by multiple continental and global upstream carriers, to fully cover all continental US, with superior transit, low latency and high throughput. In the event of congestion or disruption of any single circuit carrier, traffic is routed via the most optimal path so that all upstream transit remains uninterrupted.
In a nutshell our brand new North America West Coast regional datacenter is on a direct highly-available interconnection hub for the entire continental US & North American traffic, as well as an excellent transit point towards both Asia — Oceania, and Europe.
How it works
If you are a new client of Pressidium, once you log into your account for the first time, you will be prompted to select your preferred region. Once selected, you will receive a confirmation email with your selection.
If you are an existing Pressidium client and you want to deploy a website to a new region, all you have to do is create a new account and select your preferred region. You can now have up to four accounts on Pressidium, one per geographic region. If you need help or more information please contact our industry-leading support team by submitting a ticket at support-at-pressidium.com and we will take care of the rest.
Finally, please note that the new datacenter is available on all plans.
